He was hospitalized with severe breathing difficulty and died a few days later on February 10th while still in the hospital. Joanne called Mary Jane Wednesday this week to make us aware and asked us to let those who have become close friends through the reunions know as well. Joanne especially wanted you all to know that attending the upcoming reunion is all that Ray has talked about since the last one in Norfolk back in April 2022. Mr. Harris, the best husband and father you could ever be blessed to have. He was a SK3 and served on the Mux during the Cuban missile crisis naval blockade.

I only recently became aware of his service on the Mullinnix. I was  reviewing your web page and read of your interest of the passing of your fellow shipmates. He was so very honored to have served in the Navy and the bond he always felt for his peers. This was a very difficult time for him as I am certain it was for all of you. He was prone to tear-up when asked   to discuss those times.
His funeral was held at First Baptist Church of Jackson, MS at 1130 on Tuesday the 2nd of Oct.                    V/R,
